Professional Biography

Brenda Speer has been practicing law since 1989 and has honed her area of emphasis, intellectual property law (patent, trademark and copyright), through both private law firm practice and in-house legal department service. In October 2004 she re-entered private law practice in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as a solo practitioner and provides legal counsel to artists, entertainers, innovators and companies in the creative, technological and business arts. She is an avid champion in educating and enabling her clients to protect and nurture their valuable brainchildren.

Personal Biography

Brenda Speer has been a long-time resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She moved to the city as a child in 1970 and grew up and finished her primary education here. After living in various places to complete her undergraduate and graduate education, as well as to gain work experience, she returned to Colorado Springs in 1996. She lives here with her husband and her collection of books, fashion accessories and sewing and needlework supplies. Brenda is active in the community and is affiliated with many organizations as a member or board director. One of her favorite activities is playing French horn with the Pikes Peak Philharmonic.

Hello! I am Kathleen Hupfer, Brenda’s Administrative Assistant. My education and employment experience has resulted in positions in the business, financial, and health industries. My philosophy is to continually expose myself to new learning opportunities because I believe that education enriches life. I moved to Colorado Springs from Wisconsin in 2005 with my husband, Bruce and dog Summit. We are outdoor enthusiasts and enjoy hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. I also like to read, bake, volunteer in the community, and experience the cultural and historic riches of Colorado. Brenda and I make a fantastic team and I look forward to partnering with her to educate and enable her clients to protect and nurture their valuable brainchildren!
